Member News: Turning Dreams Into Reality

You dive head first into an idea, and before you know it you’re so dedicated to it that you are transfixed on “figuring it out” and making a plan to let it develop. From an idea into a dream. From a dream, into a reality.   And right now, the Blog Buddy Program for me has been a Dream. I’ve spent so many hours now making decisions, and forming plans. Thinking about what bloggers needs, and about what we already have to work with. While gathering my resources and practicing my professional skills as a writer, entrepreneur, and lover of small business. I am writing to you today to explain the small shift in focus as we begin to implement some dramatic changes in a driven and motivated way. Essentially we want to create a membership website community for bloggers that allow us all a safe place to make friends, support and encourage each other to improve and continue to blog. With a focus on enabling bloggers to collaborate and network together to create even better and more original content. No one should have to work alone, and although blogging is a personal journey for all of us. It is…

Keyword Research: Why it is important to do your Homework!

This entry is part 5 of 5 in the series Blog Improvement Series 2

Keyword Research – It sounds like something you might have done for a school project right?! Well although you won’t be graded, the harder you work on it the better your blog and your content will perform. Why is keyword research important to blogs?     In this article, I’ll be answering the three main questions you are probably asking about Keyword Research: * So what is it? * Why bother? * How do you do it? So let’s start at the beginning.     What IS Keyword Research?   In a nutshell, it’s working out all the different variations which someone might type into a search engine in order to find your content. It’s actually a lot easier than it sounds and can take minutes to do. You can then type these keywords into your SEO for your post, page or blog. I also find it useful to do this to come up with ideas for content to make when I am having Writer’s Block!     Why is Keyword Research so important?   When you write a blog post, how do you know people are going to find it? They type words into Google or another search engine…

The core of it, is this Buddy Program for Bloggers. Which has greatly impacted Vicky and I since we connected (here’s our story) about six months ago now as the original “blog buddies”. We do support each other on a very regular basis as someone to talk “blogging” with. As well as read, support, and share your blog content with. It’s so great to have someone to share this with because, blogging doesn’t have to be solo anymore. Vicky talks about how it feels when you don’t have someone to read,…

How to Write the Perfect About Me Page and Social Media Bios for Your Blog

Create the Perfect About Me Page and Social Media Bios for Your Blog
This entry is part 4 of 5 in the series Blog Improvement Series 2

Writing your blog’s About Me page, as well as your social media Bio for your Blog, may not seem as important as you think it is. (Like it’s something you don’t have to do right away.) But it’s a huge part of getting found! As well as, nailing brand collaborations and allowing your audience to know, like, and trust you.   The know-like-trust factor is very important when you are trying to become an influencer to your audience. Have you ever gotten a notification that you have a new follower on your Instagram or Twitter? Then you click on their profile and they have a bio full of only emojis, it’s just blank, or looks really dodgy? What do you do? Well,  I’m guessing you do what I normally do and block them or at least, not follow them back. As bloggers, we want to grow our following, not get blocked! So today I’m going to walk you through how to create the perfect social media bio and about me page for  your blog.      About me page   You’re about me page is one of the most important pages on your blog, it’s where you make the people…

Finding Your Blogging Voice | Weekly Roundup

Finding Your Own Writing Voice | BIS S2 W5
This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series Media Recaps

What a great week we had, talking about finding your blog writing voice. Between the amazing post by Kate, our 2 Hour Twitter Chat on Tuesday, and this week’s personal podcast episode. I’m feeling well refreshed that I we all have a unique writing style, a personal voice, and amazing purpose within our own blogs. I wanted to take a moment to high light some of these and get a good overview of everything we all shared together this week. (I’ll try to do this more often!)   Q1 | What inspired you to start writing? #blogbuddychat — Blog Buddy Program (@BlogBuddyP) March 19, 2019 . . Yeah life has a way of aligning you to your purpose. I used to slack when it comes to writing but eventually I did put my priorities in order and started my journey. Still navigating my way through, finding my voice so it represents what I’m all about 🙂 — Lady_Blogger (@NasheLee_) March 19, 2019 . . My writing is louder. — Amanda Gene (@AmandaGeneN) March 19, 2019 Isn’t it interesting how we can express ourselves so differently in writing?   My writing is more opinionated — Lady_Blogger (@NasheLee_) March 19, 2019 .…

Finding Your Blog Writing Voice: Why You Need One & 5 Tips

One of the most important things you should do to your blog is establish your blog writing voice. I still remember the first time someone commented about my blog writing voice. They said it was positive, uplifting and it was like talking to a good friend. And I felt like I hit bingo, because that is exactly what I want my readers to feel when reading my blog.     So what is a blog writing voice exactly and why is it important? I’m so glad you ask. It’s the tone of your blog post. Your blog writing voice is the most organic way to establish your blog’s brand, because it’s a way to convey your personality as a blogger. Yes, yes. Your blog’s design is important for establishing a good blog brand. We’ve already established that. But, as we’ve also discussed in previous posts about branding, there is more to a blog’s brand than your chosen colors and logo and fonts. Think about it. The most recognizable bloggers out there aren’t just recognized by their colors and logo and fonts – the way they write is exclusively authentic. When I think of a blogger with an easily recognizable voice,…

Watch Screen Capture Videos of Me Blogging!

Have you ever wanted to see someone else blog? What their process is and how they go about doing certain aspects of blogging? Well, I thought screen capture videos of me blogging would be a unique way to connect to you guys. So I’ve started doing screen capture videos for our new Best Buddies Patreons! To start with, I wanted to show you an example of one of the Screen Capture Video. This is a video of me blogging while editing the previous Website Development post I wrote here. This is recorded Live and in Real Time. I try to keep them between 5-20 minutes but include valuable blogging tips and hacks, and type notes to you while I capture whatever blogging task I might be recording for you!   So I couldn’t help myself. I wanted to do a video of me developing this website for the week in the series on Development. But I had been procrastinating on writing THAT VERY POST because I have been… too busy Developing… This… Website? Ironic, I know. I do a lot in this 18 min screen capture (no sound but I type to you in a notepad) including draft, assign a…

Tools for Developing Your Blog’s Website

This entry is part 3 of 5 in the series Blog Improvement Series 2

Developing your blog’s website is something that will take a lot of time, planning, and dedicated effort to create. I have a lot offer and knowledge to share on this topic, but ironically I’m “too busy” to write about it as I’m still in the early stages of this process for this blog myself. If you want to follow along and see what I’m doing behind the scenes, then consider getting the access to our Patreon Feed where I am sharing Screen Cast Videos of me ACTUALLY MAKING THE BLOG BUDDY PROGRAM. Which will include the process of designing this membership website! During the website development process in the last 6 months, I have done a lot of planning, creating new strategies, coming up with workflows and customizing code. So how can I share that with you? Let’s start with some basics today, and give you access to the public Website Development for Bloggers Trello Board. Which is a simplified version of my own Website Development boards. I plan to add to and grow this board over time for you so feel free to check back on it, if it’s been a while. It’s likely this is not the only…
